General Phrases
Sut mae?
What’s up?
Used as “hello”
Be ydy’ch enw chi?
What’s your name?
This is the formal way of asking about the name, you can use “ti” instead of “chi” which makes it more casual, but if you don’t know the person’s name then i recon you should be polite and say “chi”.
Faint orgloch ydy hi?
What time is it?
Literally: How much o’clock is she? The main reason is that it’s actually bad Welsh to say “What time is it?” – or – “Be ydy’r Amser?” As it’s not the proper way of asking about the time.
Lle mae’r ty bach?
Where is the toilet?
Here “ty bach” means “little house”, and it’s one of the ways you can say toilet in Welsh. Some people prefer to say “toiled” which is fine too. So choose as you please, please.

Interesting Facts
Money
Pres – or – Arian
“Pres” is used in the North of Wales and it means “Brass”, where “Arian” means “Silver” and is used in South Wales. The historical reason behind these two words is the North of Wales didn’t have as much money as the South, and most people possessed copper coins rather than silver like in the South, so they referred to money as “Pres” while the south referred to it as “Arian”.
Wireless
Di-Wifren
The reason i’ve included this word, is becuase the first ever wireless transmission in the World took place in Wales, and was accomplished by David Hughes in 1878.

Mynydd
There are loads of mountains in Wales, the most recogniseable being Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales and England. Another facts is that Mount Everest is also named after the Welsh surveyor Sir George Everest.
